FAQs

How and where are Cake Walk London cakes made?

All our cake orders are baked and decorated fresh and to order at our bakery in Thornton Heath (Norbury). We do not operate a production line or use industrial machinery; all our cakes are freshly baked each day in small batches and hand crafted one order at a time. It takes longer but they taste better.

How long will my cakes stay fresh for?

All our products are made without artificial preservatives and we always recommend eating them on the day to enjoy them at their best.If you want to keep them for one or two more days then store them in their boxes in the fridge, We do not recommend freezing our cakes.

In the (unlikely) event you find that you have cupcakes left over they’ll stay fresh for a day or so in their box, or an additional day in an airtight container.

Do you make gluten free and vegan cakes?

Yes - we feature both Vegan and Gluten Free cakes for pre orders. Please note that we do not currently offer any flavours that are both vegan and gluten free, but we're working on it!

How/where do you deliver?

All our cakes need to be hand delivered as they are freshly baked and fragile. We offer a door to door delivery, once our driver reaches your door please come out from your door and get the cake from the driver. service in Central and South London. For orders that need to arrive at or by a more specific time please contact us.

Unfortunately due to the costs associated with hand delivery we do have a small delivery charge. Orders can be collected from our store 7days a week. Monday-Saturday 10am-8pm and Sunday 11am-7pm.. Please ensure if arranging your own courier that your driver has the name the order was booked under and the order number when they come to collect.

Can I Collect my cakes from you?

Of course - orders can be placed for collection from our Thornton heath bakery. Please bring confirmation of your order when collecting.

How far ahead should I order?

We recommend ordering one or two days in advance, but we do get very busy so it’s worth allowing more time if you can. This is especially true for very large orders and orders involving lots of bespoke decoration. For weddings and other large orders it is advisable to give us as much notice as possible. Larger cakes, especially bespoke cakes, require more notice and we recommend giving at least one week notice, or more if possible.

We will always try to accommodate last-minute orders whenever we can; if you have a cake emergency and need an urgent order please call us on 020 8684 1111 or 0800 999 7771 and we'll do our very best to help.

Are your cakes halal?

Yes, our cakes do not contain any haram substances such as alcohol or traces of meat.

Are your cakes suitable for people with nut allergies?

We do not use nuts in the manufacturing process, but some of our cake designs have nuts as a topping. For this reason we cannot guarantee 100% nut-free cakes.

What if I need to amend or cancel my order?

If you need to change the date or details of your order or cancel it altogether please contact us as far in advance as possible. We will always be as accommodating as we can if you need to change or postpone an order but please bear in mind that we may have had to turn away other customers to fulfil your booking for a particular date so refunds/changes are not always possible.
